We have been able to rehearse for a few months now which has been really nice. I don’t think we realised how much Shepley Band brings to our lives. We have had several summer concerts from June through to August, one in the pouring rain, fortunately under a small but perfectly formed, nearly big enough gazebo. We were very proud to play at the celebration of the centenary of the Shepley War Memorial.
We are now looking forward to Christmas (yes) and planning the busking which we so enjoy. We haven’t decided on a Christmas concert as yet as we haven’t done one for a few years now. We may just do something a bit different – watch this space.
We have realised that as some people have not been able to return to the band we have a few gaps and would love to have more players to join us. We are particularly looking for flutes, clarinets and brass but happy to give any player a home.
